"It's been a horrible week. We've taken both today and yesterday as rest days. We might take tomorrow as well...We are all sore and sick, in mourning and exhausted—yet triumphant. Odd to be triumphant. I think it's because most of us are still alive. We are a harvest of survivors. But then, that's what we've always been” —Octavia Butler
On Monday, June 8th from 6 - 7:30 pm EST, IHDA is hosting a loosely moderated community discussion as we reflect on recent events and protests against police brutality. We hope you will join us in self-reflection about how we make sense of this issue and racism within ourselves.
Please bring any artwork, poems, paintings that you would be comfortable sharing with the group. We will have moments for personal sharing as well as art sharing.
Register in advance via Zoom to join. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about how to join.
And if you haven’t already, please fill out our Community Care Survey to help inform how we design these spaces.
